Seiji Nakao (Assistant Professor, CAAS) was awarded the Young Researcher Prize of the Japan Association for African Studies at its 58th Annual Meeting on 22 May 2021. The prize was given for his book, Modernity of Inland West Africa: Historical Anthropology of Stateless Societies and States (2020, Fukyosha).
